Anne Welcomes NHS cash bonus for Swindon

Anne Snelgrove, (Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for Health), has welcomed extra millions going into the local NHS.

The financial position of the NHS has shown a massive improvement since last year. A deficit has been transformed into a surplus and Swindon will benefit.

Who Gains?

Avon and Wiltshire MHP NHS Trust will receive £2,789,000.

Swindon and Marlborough NHS Trust will receive £835,000.

Anne Snelgrove said:

“The NHS has had to make some tough decisions, and has achieved a big financial turnaround this year and we are reaping the benefits in Swindon.”

“No-one now waits more than 6 months for their operation in Swindon, compared with waits of up to 2 years under the Tories. The extra millions will help in my campaign to see an end to NHS waiting lists in Swindon by December 2008.”
