The NHS turns 60 this
year and it remains one of our most cherished public services. A lot has changed in 60 years, but the NHS remains as vital today as it was in 1948. Like many of you, I'm proud of our hospital and
I'll do my very best to save services.
By now, most of you will have heard about the clinician-led proposals called "A Picture of Health". All the options set out in "A Picture of Health" would lead to changes in the services provided
by University Hospital Lewisham and may put some services at risk.
I'm going to be fighting for the maintenence of an A&E service capable of dealing with most cases; the retention of the excellent regional paediatric unit and the retention of doctor led
maternity care, while also seeking to improve safety for mothers. In all of this, I'm going to need your help for a community campaign that will put people before politics.
