Calton Ward

. Ruth Simpson

If you live in South Dennistoun, south of the right hand side of Duke St, your local Labour councillors in the new Calton ward are Ruth Simpson and George Redmond. Ruth is the Council's Executive Member for Land and Environment.

Ruth is dealing with casework in South Dennistoun. She says: ''There have been many successes in the area, in new housing, or refurbishment of others, but there is still a lot to do. As a teacher, I am aware how important education is to our children, and I am keen to play my part in making sure we have the best possible community facilities, where people feel safe to enjoy their neighbourhood.''

She also represents constituents in Calton and Parkhead, which are within the Glasgow Central Westminster Parliamentary and the Glasgow Shettleston Scottish Parliamentary Constituencies. She holds surgeries at the following venues and times -

3rd Wednesday of each month - South Dennistoun Neighbourhood Centre, Whitehill St, Dennistoun at 7pm

She also holds surgeries for those constituents in Calton and Parkhead, which are within the Glasgow Central Westminster Parliamentary and the Glasgow Shettleston Scottish Parliamentary Constituencies.

Elderly or Disabled constituents or those unable to attend surgeries can be visited at home.

There are no surgeries held during school or public holidays.
