Allan has served as councillor for the Cowlairs ward from 1999-2007, and for the new Springburn ward from May 2007. An electrician, and an active trade unionist, since being elected, he was
convener of the City's Road Safety and Lighting Strategies, delivering better white street lighting across the city. He has worked to achieve the new Petershill Park, investment in North Glasgow
College, the Springburn Library and Leisure Centre, and the lifelong learning centre in Ayr St. In May 2007, he was elected as Deputy Lord Provost of Glasgow, and is Vice-Convener of the Council's
North Area Committee.

Jim served as councillor for his home area in the Springburn ward from 2002-2007 and for the new Springburn ward since May 2007. Prior to his election, he worked for Scottish Power, since
being elected, he has worked to bring investment to Springburn Park, in new and refurbished housing throughout Springburn, the new Springburn Academy, and for local allotments, bowling and
pensioners' clubs. He has served the City as a Bailie since 2003, and since May 2007 has been vice-convener of the Council's Development and Regeneration Policy Development and Scrutiny Committee.
