Canal Ward

If you live in Milton, Ashfield, Keppochhill, Lambhill, Parkhouse, Possilpark, Hamiltonhill, West Colston (on the left hand side of Springburn Rd on the way out to Bishopbriggs), or Ruchill your local Labour councillors in the new Canal ward are Ellen Hurcombe and Jim MacKechnie.

Ellen served as councillor for Ashfield from 1998-2007, and in the new Canal ward since May 2007. Since May 2003 she has served the city as a Bailie, and as vice-convener of the Land and Environmental Policy Development and Scrutiny Committee.

1st Monday of each month - Greenview Primary School, Buckley St, Ashfield at 7pm

2nd Wednesday of each month - Possilpoint Community Centre, 130 Denmark St, Possilpark at 12.30pm

3rd Wednesday of each month - Chyrnside Primary School, 228 Ashgill Rd, Milton at 6pm

3rd Friday of each month - Balmore Housing Association, 35 Mansion St, at 10am

Elderly or Disabled constituents or those unable to attend surgeries can be visited at home.

There are no surgeries held during school or public holidays.

4th Wednesday of each month - Our Lady of the Assumption Primary School, 439 Bilsland Drive, Ruchhill, at 6pm

Jim also deals with ward casework from other areas in Ruchill, Woodside, Firhill, and North Kelvin which are within the Glasgow North Westminster Parliamentary and the Glasgow Maryhill Scottish Parliamentary Constituencies, and holds other surgeries in these areas.
