I have been Member of Parliament for South Derbyshire since the General Election of May 1, 1997. In that time I have been contacted by more than 15,000 households (around one in four of those in the area) On many occasions my assistance has resulted in progress and I am always glad to hear constituents' views on the issues of the day. This website provides information on my work, both in and on behalf of the constituency. January 21 - Post Office closures debate
Mark has quizzed Patrick McFadden, the Minister of State for the Department of Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform in Parliament about Post Office closures. Three post offices in South Derbyshire have been earmarked for closure. No changes were made following the recent consultation despite many objections.
Mark asked the minister why Church Gresley post office was to be closed when it was profitable
