  • Cladding is nearly finished
  • The glazing is finished
  • All the rooms have been built and are now being fitted out

Other works

  • Tiling has now started on passageway walls
  • Rendering has started on platforms in preparation for wall tiling
  • Cabling for fire detection system is now being installed
  • Spiral staircase repairs underway, installing stair nosings

The work is on schedule for the start of trial operations in September and station opening in mid-October

AS asked for further details of the Below Ground Works (BGW) - ie what was in the original plan, when it was changed and what the current plan is. LU to report.

Step-free access

The situation remains as stated at the June meeting.

2. ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS

2.1 Rail replacement buses

AS had received complaints that the White City bus had stopped running early. LU said that this had happened on occasions when Wood Lane had been closed to traffic overnight but was not a permanent change. AS asked if early closures were still happening. LU to investigate and report.

AS also asked if any Hammersmith & City line closures were planned in the next few months? LU to report.

Post meeting note: LU has advised that no more early closing of the White City bus is planned. However, the service is reliant on Wood Lane being open so if the road works require short-notice overnight closures the bus service will also stop early. If LBHF are able to provide advance notice this would assist with planning.

No Hammersmith & City line closures are planned prior to the works in the area finishing.

2.2 148 route - refunds

LU was asked to look into two cases where customers’ refunds had been sent to the gates at the closed station. LU to investigate and report.

3. EFFECT OF ROAD WORKS ON LOCAL BUSINESS

Residents and Traders repeated their request asked that every effort be made to get the work finished as quickly as possible to minimise the impact locally. Shepherd’s Bush Place (SBP) residents had asked LBHF for a copy of the works agreement for closing SB Place (s168a) and this had not yet been provided.

AS will take the general issue of conduct of works with LBHF and request a meeting.

LBHF to supply the s168a agreement.

AS and traders asked for details of what is happening to the pedestrian crossing outside Shepherd’s Bush (Central line) station and whether or not there will be any more road closures before October. LBHF to report back.

4. BUS CONSULTATION

Consultation on new routes 228 and 316 closes on 11 July.

Ward councillors in White City are very supportive of the new links the 228 will provide for the people of the White City Estate. London Buses (LB) is to meet residents of Steventon Road to discuss the proposals. LB is also meeting residents of Ladbroke Grove to discuss that part of the proposal.

5. DATE OF NEXT MEETING

The next meeting will be held at the Village Hall on 1 August 2008 at 10 am.
